Member Spotlight: Justin Chen

Meet our member, Justin Chen.

Let our community get to know you! Tell us about yourself.

My name is Justin Chen. I am a political science and global studies second-year student. I hope to attend law school and become a corporate lawyer or management consultant.

Why did you join BLIS and what do you hope to gain?

"I hope to gain knowledge on capital markets and finance and participate in relevant activities, such as the workshops and competitions."

What has been your favorite internship/extracurricular/personal experience?

"My favorite internship was the one with PwC. During my time at PwC Legal, I had the opportunity to assist corporate attorneys in the 3.6 million USD Series B funding of a Taiwanese medical device supplier by reviewing the share purchase agreement and other transactional documents, participated in a government commissioned project by conducting legal research on cross-listing rules and regulations in the U.S., Hong Kong, and Singapore, and prepared legal memoranda on Panamanian redomiciliation laws and U.S. branch profit taxes as a part of a tax project commissioned by the National Taxation Bureau."

Why do you think other students should join this community?

"BLIS is a community of like-minded individuals who aspire to have careers in law and finance. Prospective lawyers, bankers, and consultants could learn more about their respective fields, network with each other, and grow their skill sets via workshops and competitions."
